On the Season Two DVD, one of the trivia questions was "How many bullets did Sledge Hammer fire during the series?" That is an interesting question. Here is a count:
Under The Gun - 16 Hammer Gets Nailed - 3 Witless - 1 They Shoot Hammers, Dont They? - 5 Dori Day Afternoon 5 To Sledge With Love - 0 All Shook Up - 2 Over My Dead Bodyguard - 2 Magnum Farce - 0 If I Had a Little Hammer - 10 To Live and Day on TV - 6 Miss of the Spider Woman - 0 The Old Man and the Sledge - 0 State of Sledge - 0 Havent Gun, Will Travel - 4 The Color of Hammer - 0 Brother, Can You Spare a Crime - 0 Desperately Seeking Dori - 2 Sledgepoo - 2 Comrade Hammer - 1 Jagged Sledge - 0 The Spa Who Loved Me 0 Season One 59 bullets fired by Sledge A Clockwork Hammer 1 Big Nazi on Campus 4 Play it Again, Sledge 6 Wild About Hammer 6 Death of a Few Salesman 8 Vertical 3 Dressed to Call 1 Hammer Hits the Rock 6 Last of the Red Hot Vampires 1 Hammeroid 13 Sledge in Toyland 1 Icebreaker 0 They Call Me Mr Trunk 1 Model Dearest 1 Sledge, Rattle and Roll 7 Suppose They Gave a War and Sledge Came? 0 The Secret of My Excess 5 It Happened What Night? 0 Heres to You, Mrs Hammer 4 Season Two - 68 bullets fired by Sledge By this calculation, Sledge fired 59 bullets during Season One and 68 bullets during Season Two - or a total of 127 bullets. The Season Two counts have been double-checked at the Sledge Hammer Arsenal website, but that site doesn't list all the Season One bullet counts, so I have had to reconstruct the count from memory. Please post and let me know if any of the counts are incorrect, and I will amend this listing. At any rate, it looks like Season Two does indeed outgun Season One.  |

There's a lot of 0's on that list for S1...
It's two for 'Over My Dead Bodyguard'; one after Cap'n Trunk gets shot and one in the operating theatre - I'm pretty certain about this as I watched this episode just yesterday! |

This was bugging me at work so I checked out 'If I Had A Little Hammer' again (any excuse to watch 'em once more) and there are ten shots fired in that one - four of them at the tyres of a car!
That's more like Sledge Hammer and should bump up the total. That's it though, I'm off to the pub now...  |

Thanks for the update on "If I Had a Little Hammer". I have updated the totals. Since there are only a few episodes in which Sledge never fired a shot, it is starting to look like Season One actually had more shots fired than in Season Two. It's funny how memory works. People tend to remember only unusual things. Because I am so used to seeing Sledge fire his magnum, it is not noteworthy to me, and I have a hard time remembering that. Just like the question "How many times does Sledge say 'Trust me, I know what I'm doing' in each episode?" It is so common that it is hard to keep track of that. |

It takes a dedicated fan to go to all the trouble of counting Hammers shots
 Of course at the end of the day Hammers gun is like the nuclear deterrent, it doesn't have to be used to be effective, it's knowing that it's there if needed. |

The spine of the UK Sledge Hammer Series TWO DVD has a nice picture, and Sledge's catchphrase has been modified on the cover.
