Also, he mentions According to Jim as being a really bad TV show. I have never seen it.  |

Hey, thanks for that tip. That is really (yet another) great interview with Mr. Spencer. It's always a breath of fresh air to hear his views - really great stuff.

Agreed, good interview, and good comments. Hopefully someone will have the will to go with a series movie that is more faithful to the series, after the news I hear that "Miami Vice" may end up as a spoof in a movie version.
It seems that movies more faithful to the series also draw more money as a rule - didn't the "Star Trek" films, the "X-Files" movie, and the "Naked Gun" series outdo the "Starsky and Hutch" and "Brady Bunch" remakes that were changed more into parodies of their parent series? So I guess you can look across the genres from drama to comedy and the rule holds up. |

Thought #1: Name: Lethal Weapon. Stars: Mel Gibson and Danny Glover (OK Danny is no Anne-Marie but I think he could carry it off).
Thought #2: The world has changed in the last 20+ years (see thought #1), the cast has changed (if I believe IMDb David Rasche will be 65 this year), Alan has changed, the Repulican Party has changed (OK maybe not the Republican Party). Although the thought of an aging Sledge and Dori Hammer-Doreau raising little Hammer twins (Bawl and Peein'?) would be a great vehicle for all sorts of boomer-esque send offs (and answer the question Alan promised to answer in the Season 2 DVD extras - promises, promises), it would never be the same as it was. That's not necessarily bad, but perhaps we should be careful what we wish for. Alan - if you're listening out there - the DVDs were a great trip down memory lane. "Thanks for the memories" Anything more would be gravy....  -------------------- God is great. Beer is good. People are crazy.

You do have a point, and maybe a movie could play up on that. Picture Sledge, in his 60s, married to Dori, retired from the force, and champing at the bit for some action.
